Nano Mechanics and Nano Structure Design for Ultra Strong Materials

We have put great efforts to understand “Smaller is Stronger” behavior of nanomaterials. Backed by our fundamental understanding, we suggested and synthesized the multilayer nanocrystalline structure nanowires, which have 10 times higher tensile strength than most metal nanostructures previously reported at any scale. We also provide design guidance on the mechanical properties of nanocermicmaterials. Mechanically robust nanoshellalumina structures were successfully incorporated into GaNLEDs and thereby greatly improving the luminous efficiency and output power of the LEDs by 2.2 times.
